The back sits ½″ off the wall — the manual’s own clearance. The teardrop’s profile, flattened to hang where a floor-hog can’t go.

The finish is thermoplastic paint baked at 250 °C for 30 minutes — the manual’s own recipe for a black that stays black.

The wood original’s numbers below. The Paxfocus Gas runs 27,000–42,000 BTU/hr on natural gas (up to 43,500 on propane) with remote, electronic ignition and flame adjustment — the same ½″ off the wall, the same 8 ft 6″ ceiling.

Half an inch off the back wall — the manual’s own number. The wall side stays cool by design; the sides want 29″ and the floor below gets a non-combustible pad reaching 18″ out front in Canada. The suspension plate anchors to the wall structure, which we assess before quoting.
A factory-built HT chimney — UL 103 in the US, ULC S629 in Canada — on a nominal 8″ natural-draft flue rising straight off the hood. Listing 203 mm, manual 205 mm: same 8″ system, quoted both.
