A wood insert is a sealed steel firebox that slides into your existing masonry fireplace and burns through a stainless liner run to the top of the chimney. Real wood, real heat — and the room stops losing its warm air up the flue.
We measure the firebox and the flue on the first visit and choose the insert that fits — Pacific Energy or Stûv — so the surround closes the opening like it was built for it.

Most masonry fireplaces, yes. The Super Insert LE’s two surrounds (43″ × 29″ and 48″ × 33″) close almost every brick opening built in Ontario, and the compact Stûv 6-in covers the small ones. We measure the opening and the flue on the first visit and tell you plainly before anything is ordered.
No. A stainless steel liner runs from the insert to the top of your existing chimney, so the fire drafts properly and the smoke never touches old masonry. We sweep and inspect first — if the chimney needs work, the same crew does it.
The Super Insert LE is the same 72,000 BTU firebox as the Super 27 stove, with two variable-speed blowers pushing that heat into the room instead of up the flue. Overnight burns on dry hardwood are what it is built for. The Stûv 16-in and 6-in are the modern Belgian alternative for the same opening.
