Who We Are.
We didn’t set out to build just another fireplace company. We built Chase N’ Chimneys to feel different – more like calling a family member or best friend than dealing with a contractor.
Nick Kokkas – Co-Founder & Master Craftsman.
With 16 years of fireplace and chimney installs behind him, Nick has built a reputation as the guy who gets it right – no matter how challenging the project. Whether he’s setting a high-end European fireplace, climbing a roof in the middle of winter, or walking a homeowner through the details step by step, Nick brings the same mix of skill, patience, and genuine care. Clients trust him because he makes even the toughest jobs feel simple and stress-free.
What people notice most, though, is Nick’s way of making you feel at ease. When you meet him, it feels less like talking to a contractor and more like catching up with a best friend or family member. That ability to connect instantly – paired with his skill in the field – is what makes working with Nick such a great experience.
Away from work, Nick has a need for speed – you’ll often find him at the drag strip chasing that perfect run. And with a baby on the way, he’s looking forward to a new kind of adventure, trading the roar of engines for a few late-night feedings. At home, Nick enjoys life with his wife Brittany and their Husky, Willow, who keeps them both on their toes.
When it comes down to it, what makes Nick stand out is the way he looks after people. He wants every client to feel comfortable, to know they’re in good hands, and to walk away feeling like they can call him anytime – not just for a fireplace, but for advice from someone they trust. For Nick, it’s never just about the job. It’s about people.
Dan Kowarsky – Co-Founder & Vision Builder.
From world stages to living room fireplaces, Dan’s path has been anything but ordinary. Before co-founding Chase N’ Chimneys, he spent years as a professional musician – first with the pop group b4-4, then with RyanDan, where he shared the stage with icons like Shania Twain and earned a Juno nomination. Music taught him discipline, creativity, and how to connect with people on a deeper level – lessons that now define the way he approaches every client and every project.
At Chase N’ Chimneys, Dan is the voice and organizer behind the scenes. He’s the one putting together project contracts, guiding conversations with clients, and making sure schedules and details are clear long before the first tool hits the job site. (Trust us – Dan is not the guy you want with a hammer in his hands. That’s Nick’s department.) Instead, he brings strategy, structure, and a steady presence that balances Nick’s 16 years of hands-on installation expertise. Together, they’ve built a company that’s equal parts craftsmanship and coordination – a balance that makes the process smooth, stress-free, and, as clients often say, even enjoyable.
For Dan, the goal has always been simple: create a company where people feel like they’re talking to a family member or best friend. That means getting back to clients right away, keeping them updated along the way, and making sure every interaction feels personal, honest, and genuine.
Away from the business, Dan is an endurance runner, a cold-plunge enthusiast, and a family man who loves life at home with his wife Teresa, their two daughters Skylar and Raven, and Sage, their ever-energetic Vizsla. At the end of the day, what matters most to Dan is people. He wants every client to feel looked after, to know they can reach him anytime, and to walk away with not just a fireplace they love – but an experience they’ll remember as easy, warm, and real.
